As most know, recent raids have not been using the BRP system for looting of dropped items. Below you will find a guideline for how looting will be done from now on or until we can consistently put forth a complete Bloodsworn Guild Member Raid.
First rule of LOOT CLUB: DO NOT TALK ABOUT LOOT CLUB!! Second rule of LOOT CLUB: DO NOT TALK ABOUT LOOT CLUB!!
Ok, now that i have that out of the way, we continue:
Primary Loot Rules: (These are the basis for all loot drops while raiding)
1. Items dropped will all be assigned by the Raid Looter to a raider based on the highest of a /ran 1000 roll.2. Raiders will be allowed 1 contested item/1 master per raid 3. Bloodsworn Guild members are not given preference in any roll. 4. If any loot drops that no one on the raid needs, we will open it up to our guildies to pop in and loot the item. The qualifications for being allowed to roll are as follows:
1. Class-specific loot will be rolled on by only those classes that can use the item.2. Contested items will be rolled on by all who desire them. Exception: Raid-Leader determines an item was designed to be used by one class more than another. The Raid-Leader's decision is final.3. If a player rolls on an item and wins it, they may not win another item that dropped from the same mob. 4. Master spells will be rolled on ONLY by those for whom it is an upgrade. ***Note: If it is not an upgrade for any in raid, Bloodsworn will keep the master for distribution to a guildie who needs it. Primary Roll Rules1. DO NOT roll on any item until a request has been made to roll by the Raid Looter. 2. If a roll happens before rolls are called for, it will be considered null and void.3. If a player accidentally rolls wrong (ie /ran 100 instead of /ran 1000), they will be allowed a re-roll.4. Rolls will be called for 3 times.5. When the Raid looter calls the rolls complete, no rolls after that period will be accepted. PLEASE DO NOT ROLL UNLESS IT IS FOR THE ITEM.....NO PLAY ROLLS.
************************************************************************************************************* For Future Reference but not being used To determine a loot system is one of the most important things a guild can do. EQ2 is a game that is driven by people expanding their horizons through adventure and the rewards that it reaps. Discovering treasure is what drives many of us to play this game, so it is very important that we come up with a loot system.
The BRP System (Bloodsworn Raid Point system) is a variation of the DKP system (Dragon Kill Point) from the days of old where points drive the looting.
What is it?
BRP is a system where members in the guild gain points determined by certain actions they perform. On raids, characters would use these points to purchase dropped items.
How to earn BRP? (explained at the end)
Here are ways to earn BRP but not limited to:
- Raid Attendance - SP Gained for the guild - Crafting - Monetary Donations to the guild
Each action mentioned above would reward characters doing so a certain value of points that would reward their actions.
Characters would bank these points and save them for items they want on a raid.
How to spend BRP? *** Relatively New*** BRP will be used on T8+ zones and NOT on T7 and under and X2 Raid zones. BRP will be given on the T7 raids, but not the X2 Zones.
When an item drops in a raid, the raid loot leader, will look up the item's value according to its various stats, rarity, etc, and announce the value of the item to the Raid and what classes would benefit greatly from it. People interested in spending their BRP to get the item will send the Loot Leader a tell, so the loot leader knows who desires the item. The loot leader will announce the item 3 times within a minute or so. After the 3rd time, the "bidding" will be closed.
The word "bidding" isn't actually bidding on the item in the auctioner's sense of the word. the value of items DON'T change. The term "bidding" in this case just tells the loot master you are interested in the item and willing to spend the alloted points to get it.
Who wins?
The winner of the item, is the character with the most BRP up to date who sent a tell to the master looter. They loot the item, and the value of the BRP is deducted from their total. In the case of a tie, both members would do a random roll of 1000.
*** Example:
Harg, Dracu, Stormfright, Snacketh, Athazia, and Silldar were on on a raid to take on Gorlotot's Pantry, a very dangerous zone.
During the raid, they slay Blueberry Pieface worth 3.5 BRP, Applebottom Cobbler worth 2 BRP, and Jellyfinklemeister worth 6 BRP for a grand total of 11.5 BRP for the entire raid. None of the raiders purchased any of the loot on the raid since the monsters only dropped sticky napkins, but they each earned a good chunk of BRP.
A few days later, Harg, Dracu, Redeagle, Snacketh, Athazia and Silldar attend another raid. This time they attack another tough zone BOA (Brassiere of Athazia), a gnome infested zone. The first monster they slay is Yabbagrabbabooby, worth 2 BRP.
Yabba also dropped a very nice Ranger Quiver - Holder of the Milk Tapper. The loot leader of the raid looks up the value and finds that the quiver is worth 6.7 BRP (Determined by stats on the item and other factors).
The leader announces the the value of the item of the to the raid and classes that would benefit from it and asks for tells (which will be asked for only 3 times).
Harg and Redeagle, both rangers, send a tell to the loot master. The loot master looks up the current BRP of both characters and sees that Harg has 11.5 (current monster not added and is irrelevant to total since both were there), and Redeagle has 5.6 (from a previous raid). Harg has more BRP and therefore wins the Quiver. He loses 6.7 BRP from his total knocking him down to 4.8. Now the next ranger item that drops, Redeagle will have first dibs.
***
Rules:
- Only the characters on the raid get the BRP. The only exception would be if someone were to sign up for the raid and was asked to play a different character of theirs, they would be allowed to allot the BRP to any character they desire.
- BRP earned by crafting, donating money can be assigned to ANY character that player wants it to. Example: Quip is a carpenter who donates 6,000,000 SP, but has been assigned to Terrakor's BRP total since it is his alternate character.
- BRP can only be used on one item per monster killed at a given time.
- In the case of a tie, both members would do a random roll of 1000.
- Members are allowed to dip into negatives, but cap out at -100 BRP
Updated 3/1/09 Non BRP items There are items that do NOT cost BRP. These items include Masters, adept drops, L&L items, etc.
How does one get a Master spell?
- If there is more than one character with the class that can use the master, the master and ANY others of that same class will be held until the end of the raid. At the end of the raid, the Character that has the highest percent raid attendance gets first choice of what master they want. Then the next highest percentage gets second choice.. etc etc, until all masters for that class are gone.
- If only one character with the class of a master that drops is at raid, they get the master spell.
- Masters of classes that are not on the raid, will go to guild bank.
Other dropped items will be given to those who need at the end of the raid using random 1000's.
**Updated: 3/1/09 ***** Non-Guild Bloodsworn Raiders *** We are pleased to have members outside of our guild join our raid force. These frequent raiders will be given preference as if they were a guild member Bloodsworn Raider.
In order to get loot, you need to attend Bloodsworn raids to gain your points.
Please read how Guild members earn their points. The more you raid with Bloodsworn, the better chances ye have of getting items you want!
Make an account on our site and get involved!
We will have a Bloodsworn Raid Channel set up and will look in there first for needed characters for raids.
The non-guild Bloodsworn Raid channel "Bloodsworn Raiders" is BSR please add this to your chat channel options. Thanks!
Pros and Cons. As with any loot system, there will be things that are good.. and things that are bad. Below is a list of pros and cons for the BRP system.
Pros:
- The system is unbiased. No favoritism. You get what you put in.
- If you do the things that help the guild or attend raids, you will get rewards in gear.
- Those who usually raid, will get better and make it easier for success on future raids.
Cons:
- Infrequent raiders, may not get well-geared right away.
- Newer members of the guild may have to wait a little longer to get gear.
How BRP is broken down for items:
1/10 BRP per primary stat (Str, Sta, etc) 1/100 BRP per secondary (Power, health, etc) 1/200 BRP per resist (vs heat, vs magic, etc) 1 BRP per special ability (Defense, Crit chance, etc) 1 BRP for miscellaneous (i.e. per proc rate, per level of Shield Block, etc) 1/10 per combat art, spell dam, haste, etc 1 BRP per slot is usable in 1/100 BRP per mitigation 1/10 per Rating point for Weapons
Example: Marauder's Chain Hauberk +44 Str +25 Sta +20 Agi +165 Health +80 Power +615 vs heat +1,066 vs magic +7 piercing +7 ranged +7 slashing +2 Melee Crit Chance +2 Ranged Crit Chance Successive Blows Chain Mail (Chest)
Breakdown: 4.4 BRP for Str 2.5 BRP for Sta 2.0 BRP for Agi 1.65 BRP for Health .80 BRP for Power 6.15 BRP for vs heat 10.66 BRP for vs magic 7 BRP for piercing 7 BRP for ranged 7 BRP for slashing 2 BRP for melee crit chance 2 BRP for ranged crit chance 2 BRP for successive blows 1 BRP for Chest slot
A total of 56.16 BRP would be removed from the looter's BRP total
Earning BRP:
Miscellaneous 1 BRP Signing up for raid on web-site and showing up 15 minutes before the raid begins.
Double BRP's for first time raid kills.
Raid Monster Point Value
A monster's BRP value is determined by the average value of its loot that it drops divided by 10.
Using the item value above as the average of a certain monster would mean that ALL characters on the raid will earn 56.16 BRP divided by 10 for that monster slaying for a total of 5.616 BRP.
Non-Raid BRP gaining
1/10 BRP per each platinum piece donated to the ESCROW account for Guild Hall 1/250000 BRP per each Status Point donated to the ESCROW account.
Example: Billybob the Barbarian decided he wasn't able to raid much this week, so wanted to earn some BRP anyway. So, he went adventuring and gathered up 10 pieces of shiny platinum. He also crafted some and earned 250,000 which he donated to the escrow at the guild hall. He earned 1 BRP for the Platinum donated and 1 BRP for the status donated.
BRP GAINED THROUGH CRAFTING AND DONATIONS WILL BE UPDATED ONLY ON SUNDAYS! So if you add some 12 minutes before a raid, most likely won't count toward your BRP for that raid.
Bloodsworn Raid Point Decay: In order to keep people raiding, there will be raid decay. If a member has NOT donated to gain at least 1 BRP (Attending a raid, donating platinum, SP's, etc) in 30 days their total BRP will be reduced by 10%.
